ADVENTURE AWAITS

Thanks for joining us and being part of the very first Mitta Valley Gravel Unravel. Big Hill Events acknowledges the traditional owners of this region, the Yaitmathang people, and pays it’s respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

This weekend is all about exploring the untouched gravel roads of the region and taking you on an adventure, so leave the hustle and bustle behind and come for a relaxing roll instead.

This page has all the key information you need ahead of the event, but if you’ve got a make still on the fence about entering, tell em to giddy-up and enter for a great double header weekend.

We’d also like to thank the local community for their support. Make sure you stop by the Mitta Brewery and Mitta Pub to show your support.

See you at the start line.

WEEKEND ROUTES

The Mitta Valley Gravel Unravel presents riders with a choice on Saturday of two rides.

The Reverse Bull this route is a lot less technical. You’ll ride around 22km of premium gravel with stunning views and a flowing descent to tie the whole day together.

The Trap is the more technical choice with a 5km downhill section, likened to Arenberg however it is a beautiful valley ride with an amazing 5-star gravel roll out of the hills. You’ll ride around 30km of bitumen across this route.

You can choose to ride both of these routes if you’re looking for a TOUGH day on the bike, but if you’re after a more relaxed approach, you can just one or the other. You’re in control of the adventure.

SATURDAY – Choose your ride

SUNDAY

About the Premium Loop – this is all about setting yourself a personal challenge, some of you will go flat out and that’s okay, but if you’re more about the adventure, you can take it at your own pace and enjoy the day tapping along with your friends whilst enjoying the scenery.

FEED ZONES

We will have two feed zones located at around the halfway mark of all courses. These will have water and treats to keep you going but we strongly suggest bringing your own nutrition and hydration with you as options are limited in town.

WHAT TO BRING

The High Country is renowned for its unpredictable weather so make sure you bring a variety to clothing to make keep all based covered. Rain is forecast, so make sure you’ve got a good jacket.

Out on the course, make sure you have at least two spare tubes, a pump, and how to change a flat. The roads are GREAT but on-route support and mobile phone coverage are limited.

We will have food and water at the halfway point but we suggest also bringing your own nutrition and hydration. Mitta is a small town with only a general store. You will not find gels here.

SHUT THE GATE

If you ride through a gate that is closed, make sure you close it behind you. Farmers will also be grazing their cattle on a few sections, so make sure you slow down as you pass them and give them a friendly wave as not to spook them.
